I was thinking somebody should start a band with 5 harmonicas, 4 banjo players, and a tuba....

How about a bunch on trombone players, like Bonerama:

I don't hate him, I just find his approach to the harp irritatingly, unendingly sacrifices musicality for calisthenics. Clearly, his technique (or maybe just speed) is advanced.

And...excruciatingly tedious

IMHO tedious is a very appropriate description. I saw them live a couple times opening for the ABB in the 90's. Not even my 5 year old liked them.

If it takes Blues Traveler to get BigDave posting then I love Blues Traveler.

Nice to see you on here, Dave.

I've seen Blues Traveler a few times on the HORDE tour and at the Utica Auditorium in Utica, NY with Johhny Lang opening. I like them. However, like Canadian mentioned, I always wanted to hear more Chas Chinchila (sp), the guitar player, and a bit less John Popper.

I will say that while Popper could be a bit overbearing, the band always smoked live and were very tight. The last show I saw was the one in Utica, NY and it was just before the Bass player unexpectedly died from an overdose. Thus I haven't seen the current line-up.
