Hey Scotty ... considering all you have done in previous years to make the Beacon experience complete ... especially with regards to the "Jam for the Cure" in 2007 ... surely someone at HTN will help you out?????

Sincerely hope so my friend ...

I'm with you, Scotty - debating whether or not my trip will be happening. Also have to ditto what Colin said - you've definitely earned some return kindness for all you've done in years past - really hope your tickets come through! You are an integral part of the magic fabbily atmosphere that is Beacon.

Just checked e-bay...lots of tickets available from "ticket-toad" (an online store)--a sampling:
3/19 2 seats--Row AA/center-- $5850.00 (with free shipping!)
3/21 2 seats--Row AA/center-- 6500.00 "" """
3/12 2 seats--Row CC/RC 2210.00 "" ""
3/10 2 seats--Row BB/center 3900.00 "" """
They have plenty more for sale

I thought the whole point of TM making you type out the crazy security codes was so that these "scalpers" could not get all these seats? How does an on-line ticket seller have front row, or first few rows? How do they get them?

Not that I was looking for rows AA or BB....(yeah like that would ever happen), would have been happy for a couple of seats in Orch or Loge---like I always seemed to get.

Still hoping for more shows to be added...

I got tickets for 3/19, 3/20, and 3/21 during the pre-sale. Why didn't everyone do this? Or was I just lucky?

I guess I could have taken a vacation day to sit here at night and hope I got tickets on the pre-sale.

I was out of town at my uncle's funeral and completely missed the POG and the pre-sale. You were indeed very luck, a lot of people did the Presale and did not get Sat tickets

Great post Mule' ....it is irrelevant 'when' the TICKETMASTER folks went into the scalping business...the point is ...they ARE.

In addition, DOVETAIL has the balls to ask the real question. Seems highly unlikely that the "Artists'' and the ''Promoters"...and the "Site Owners (Beacon)" are not aware of the practice and one could only surmise that they ALL benefit. I have copy/pasted my post from the other thread....it is relevant. I do so only to reiterate my point...

________

Guys & gals....

I haven't read all 4 pages of posts--up to this moment--but have scanned several. I hate to pose a rather obvious question that NO one seems willing to address....but has it occured to anyone that perhaps this IS the deal the 'band' has negotiated??? I argue with myself in regards to 'capitalism' and the idea that this IS the 40th Anniversary and the 'band' should have a right to make all the money they can. Yet, I remember the 'battlecry' of years gone by about the "Band of the People". I think that has sadly become a myth.

Quite frankly, I am also upset with the 'gameplan' of selling the public on the idea of "Superstars'' attending .....Clapton, Scaggs, Franklin, BETTS?.....then 10 shows are listed. We've all rushed out and bought tix for the first 10 shows...NOW SOLD OUT!. Now sure as sh*ttn....there will be "Due to Demand--5 more shows ADDED!". Betcha Clapton comes to one of those shows and we who have made plans to travel to NYC from all over the country during the first 10 nites get stuck with the 'bass player from Mott the Hoople" as our 'special guest' on the 21st. I hope I'm wrong but I smell something funky and it ain't Aaron Neville. Then--WOW--we'll have to rush back to our homes and purchase the MOOGIS thing so we'll get to see "CLapton". What a GREAT marketing plan!!!

Nevertheless....I'm coming with a smile on my face to hear some good tunes albeit in the nosebleeds and most importantly hang out with my friends from all over the world. I'll cheer when the 'bass player from Mott the Hoople' is introduced and describe how 'great it was!". But if there' is a '41st year'.....I have a feeling I'm going to be a bit more choosy and remember how it 'used to be'.

Pardon me being a bit cynical....ironically, I'm in 'business' and I know how it works. I've also been accused before of being 'brutally honest'. I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it....

Unfortunately, I have come to the same conclusion.

They have announced five more shows. I've already sold my soul to the legal scalpers. And I'm not really excited about these new shows. I'm not making two trips to NYC. I just hope they set aside enough tickets for their loyal fans to have a shot at it. Good luck to all seeking tickets in the new pre-sale. You will need it.

Good luck to all attempting the pre-sale tomorrow night! Hope you find your dream tickets and hope we ALL get the great shows we're looking for.

All I can say about the added shows and the presale last night...
YEESSSSSSSSS!
Sitting at my computer...at 7:55pm, clicking refresh every 2 seconds waiting for the "Find Tickets" icon and I was in...instantly. This time---looking for 2 seats for the Sat. 3/28 show on the Amex fan-sale--I was given Orch-LC, Row R, aisle seat & next as the first available. You know I clicked the button without a moment's hesitation (FYI--didn't ask for the password).

It made up for the prior miserable experience that many of us had (re: being shut out, etc.).

I hope a lot of you were able to score tickets this time....

See 'ya on the 28th!

Just an update....
The s**t has hit the fan in New Jersey about Ticketmaster/Ticketsnow.
Due to the "technical difficulties" at the TM site encountered by fans attempting to purchase Springsteen tickets last week, thousands of complaints were filed with the NJ Dept. of Consumer Affairs...the NJ Attorney General, Congressmen and Representatives have begun an enquiry into the way fans were re-directed to the Ticketsnow site. Today I read that N.Y.'s Chuck Schumer is looking into it.

This prompted me to file my own complaint with NJDOCA as well as my Congressman and others, also to one of New Jersey's largest newspaper (The Record) regarding the un-availability of tickets to the ABB shows.

I wanted to bring to their attention the fact that the probe should concern itself with the point that at the exact moment tickets went on sale to the general public, none were available (any price, any seat) but within 10 minutes, one could get tickets at the (scalping) Ticketsnow site. Did Ticketmaster divert (read: steal) tickets that should have been available to consumers and make them instead available at inflated prices at Ticketsnow ?

The president of Ticketmaster has apologized (to Bruce fans) and vowed that the Ticketsnow site will not pop up next to the "sorry...no tickets available" window anymore. Big deal!

Ticketmaster should be charged with fraud and theft. We'll see how this plays out. Will keep you posted on what happens next.
