IMO it's a pretty weak list overall:

Def Leppard
Devo
Janet Jackson
John Prine
Kraftwerk
LL Cool J
MC5
Radiohead
Rage Against the Machine
Roxy Music
Rufus featuring Chaka Khan
Stevie Nicks
The Cure
The Zombies
Todd Rundgren

My feedback:

Overall not a lot of artists here that I care about or have much experience with. I would say though that based on influence and popularity, Roxy Music and The Cure should most likely be in.
John Prine should be in, the list of artists who have recorded his tunes is endless. Todd Rundgren is a no-brainer! He's in.

Devo I can't really see. They were a flash-in-the-pan novelty band with one hit record. Good record, yes. But I think the standards to enter the Hall should be a little higher than that.
Def Leppard never did one single tune that I liked so to me if they get it the standards are pretty low. Same with Radiohead; I tried to watch one of their shows on AXS a few years ago, made it through maybe 10 minutes.

Grand Funk sold out Shea Stadium faster than The Beatles. Their performances were legendary and I'm 63 so I should know, I saw them 3 times in the early days. They also had a slew of hits. Why in hell is Grand Funk not even nominated?

And how about The Doobie Brothers? Much more deserving than nearly any of these nominees, their list of hits is endless, and still in 2018 they are one of the great touring bands out there and have been for 45 years. What a joke for The Doobie Brothers not to be in the Hall and especially to not even get a nomination. Devo and Def Leppard are more deserving? OUCH............

I've said it before. This should be like the Baseball HOF. No a set number; do it by percentage (fixed number) They just won't risk a year with no inductees - no income from the show

One good thing about the RRHOF is it keeos nostalgia in check - reminds you that most pop music has always sucked, and it is not a new thing. Rock and Roll never died, it just walks the earth undead sometimes.

The Hall is a mystery to me and I admit I only casually follow it. This list is ok. I mostly agree with robslobs opinions. I actually didn’t know the Doobie Bros weren’t in but wasn’t surprised in the least. One would be foolish to assume anything about the RRHOF. Def Leppard I completely agree with. They have been a great band for years. I remember Devo and in the late 2000s I covered them at a music festival for a newpaper. It was a cool show and some dedicated attendees. I’d need to learn more to opine I guess.

Radiohead for sure. Fascinating band. I don't enjoy all of their directions, but they sure have done some amazing things.

This set of nominees seems like a particularly tough group to imagine a jam session happening with.

There are so many other bands that should be in it over the ones on the list. How about the Scorpions, Judas Priest.

Wow. This is a Rolling Stone critics fantasy list. I’ll bet their critics from the 80s and 90s got together and had a few and brainstormed this one. They’d put the first five on the list in on the first vote.

The Induction Concert potential here is insane.

That said, can someone explain Roxy Music to me? Been trying for decades now to figure that one out.

wow, thats such a bad list. And what a misnomer to go with many of the names for a "rock n roll" hall of fame too-?? theres no rock in 1/2 these nominees.

Lame list for sure.
Joe Walsh gave an interview recently from TMZ and said Link Wray should have been nominated again.
He stopped short of bashing the current list but said the nomination process was too political and ignored real artists for the most part.
