Thread: U.S. Embassy in Israel opened in Jerusalem thanks to President Trump

Muleman1994 - 5/14/2018 at 01:42 PM

Authorized by Congress by a nearly unanimous vote in 1995, the U.S. Embassy in Israel is finally moved to the true Capitol of Israel in Jerusalem.

Yet another promise fulfilled by President Trump.

Israel begins celebrations to mark Jerusalem US Embassy opening

The corrupt liberal media is losing its mind because President Trump followed through on the promise made by every President since 1995.

Israel is a sovereign nation and as such has the right to defend its borders.

Yesterday Islamic Extremist Terrorists (Hamas, supported by Iran) attacked the Israeli border and were stopped by The Israeli military.

The corrupt liberal media, led by the Jew-hating NYT portrayed the Islamic Extremist Terrorists as “protestors”, a gross misrepresentation of the facts.

The dead and injured Palestinians numbered almost 1400.

Israeli dead and injured 0.

Yes, they were strongly defending their borders from unarmed terrorists.

BTW, mule, when did you start copying Trump's random capitalization in your posts? For the record, it looks stupid when he does it, so...

Will have updates when the severe weather threat is done with us which hopefully will be tomorrow. Maybe I should put my hardhat back in the car.

Meanwhile more than 60 people were killed in Gaza, an Al Jazeera reporter from Qatar was wounded along with 2,000 other people and protests continue.

Yes, Trump for N P P.

Yeah. Burn tires; put women and children at the front of the line; try to infiltrate the border towns. Then blame Israel.

Try to behave like that in Times Square and see what the police do

You really are pathetic. Don't forget that President Obama got Bin Ladin.

It's a different world in the Middle East; not talking NY. Not defending the actions, but it was all but predictable, and Trump's choice for embassy relocation was the catalyst.

Just curious what has Jared with all of his diplomatic background and skills achieved since he was tasked with bringing peace there?

BrerRabbit - 5/16/2018 at 06:01 AM

It is a truly remarkable feat of ideological contortionism that that anti-semitic Holocaust Deniers like Muleshwitz can pretend to be pro-Israel. Or maybe they are in on it for the rightwing evangelical Christian-Israel angle. Who knows what kind of pretzel logic these freaks are into. It would appear that religion, like politics, makes for strange bedfellows. Bizzaro.

Or, hey, maybe it's just satisfying to have more massacres to deny, just let Israel blast the bloody crap out of the Palestinians and sit around and argue about blame, when there is no reason at all it could not be handled without bloodshed. I like Israel, a lot, actually love Israel, but they are botching the Palestine situation bigtime.

I suppose we should follow Israel's fine example and set up machine gun turrets every hundred yards along the Mexican border and cut them to pieces. After all, like Israel we are a sovereign nation and have a right to defend our borders, right? Is that where you are going with this?

emr - 5/16/2018 at 12:15 PM

Gaza is a way different story than Mexico re: borders. Hamas has a handful of terrorists armed with GrendesPipe Bombs looking to cross the border to kill and maim. As always they are mixed in with unarmed civilians to put Israel in a no-win situation.

So Israel's response is "kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out".

emr - 5/16/2018 at 12:43 PM

What else are they supposed to do? Let the border be breached by armed terrorists? What would you do if it was your family on the other side of the wall? Be more selective and risk "a few" deaths? Hamas puts the women and children in the front to shield the bad guys. Again; Israel is in a no win situation

How many Israelis were killed or injured by these people? How many Palestinians? Your logic fails. The Israelis fired on unarmed people killing and injufing men, women and children who were unarmed. If you find this acceptable, i suggest that you recalibrate your moral compass.

BrerRabbit - 5/16/2018 at 01:05 PM

Unacceptable, period. This embassy bullsh*t is a foolish provocation. Israel needs to cool it. Of course they won't, but the U.S. should back off. Putting the embassy right on the disputed line was a bad move, possibly deliberately antagonistic. It will cost the U.S. a lot less down the road to choose a different location for a Jerusalem embassy, preferably as far out toward city limit away from Gaza as possible. Looks to me like they are trying to kickstart a huge war.

Armed terrorists? Did you read that on Infowars.com? Legitimate sources, like NPR and Reuters, describe the people as protestors, not armed terrorists. To accuse protestors of being terrorists is highly ignorant.

De-escalate and detain, like a civilized society, like a skilled military.

Hamas always shield the bad guys with the innocent. Again; if this was at your doorstep I doubt you'd accept some infiltration from guys with grenades. They are mixed in - Hamas uses its innocent citizens as shields for the rest. There is nothing new about this

This is just like everything else in Trump's presidency. Find something that really doesn't matter much in the practical sense (kneeling for an anthem, location of embassy, whatever) and pour some gasoline on the fire. In this case a lot of protesters got killed, but why should he care? For a day some Trump fans feel like he had some kind of important victory, although just about none of them even knew or cared where the US embassy in Israel was a year ago.

Our doorstep, being Mexico....The USA would de-escalate and detain, not fire upon a group of protestors, killing many who didn’t have weapons. I see you offer no link to support your claims that the protestors were terrorists.

I never equated this to Mexico. I'm being very literal. Your doorstep. 10 people are breaking down your door; 1 is dealy armed. You let them come in and then try to disarm the one bad guy? Israel isn't worried about a bunch of unarmed people burning tires. Its the Hamas guys who incessantly try to tunnel in/cross the border/contain mayhem.

Re: sources read any article in the NY Times that quotes Israeli sources. They all state that there are armed Hamas fighters with grenades/pipe bombs. Of course the NY Times buries this deep in the article.

I tend to trust the Israeli army intelligence actions. If we listened to Masaad re: bad guys crossing the border in 2001 the WTC would still be standig

It would’ve been a more accurate analogy.

I don’t see the logic of this analogy. Shouldn’t we be comparing instances of people trying to cross a border illegally, since that’s what actually happened? Your analogy is a completely different circumstance involving citizens of the same country. You are comparing apples to oranges.

I think you know that there were many who were unarmed. A civilized and evolved force would de-escalate, not escalate.

emr - 5/16/2018 at 08:33 PM

Difference between trying to cross a border illegally to get into a country and trying to cross as a human shield for the armed minority. This was not a group of people looking to immigrate in order to obtain employment. The unarmed people were there to aid the armed ones.

Whatever side one takes on Mexican immigration it is clear that most of those crossing the border are looking for a better economic life. I haven't read one line of press that claims the people from Gaza are storming the border to look for jobs.

This is apples/oranges

Hamas admits most killed in Gaza violence were its members

www.foxnews.com

A senior Hamas official admitted Wednesday that dozens of rioters killed by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip were members of the militant group.

The official, Salah Bardawil, told the private Palestinian news outlet Baladna TV that 50 of the protesters killed in Monday's violence were members, with the others being "from the people." He did not specify what roles the victims had in the organization, such as whether they were members of the group's armed wing.

The admission came one day after Björn Stritzel, a reporter for the German tabloid BILD, tweeted so-called "martyrdom pictures" of Hamas militants killed in the violence.

Israel's government said Bardawil had proven that its forces had acted appropriately in response to the mass attempt to cross the border with Gaza. Israel has repeatedly claimed that Hamas uses weekly border protests as cover to stage terror attacks.

"It was clear to Israel and now it is clear to the whole world that there was no popular protest; this was an organized mob of terrorists organized by Hamas," said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Emmanuel Nahshon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had tallied similar numbers to Hamas', and "won't let those who call for our destruction to breach our borders and to threaten our communities."
In response to the uproar over his remarks, Bardawil later said in a statement that Israel was "legitimizing the killing of Palestinians just because they are Palestinians or just because they are Hamas, even if they were unarmed and defending their dignity and rights."

On Tuesday, the Israeli Army released a video that appeared to show protesters detonating several explosions near the border. It also said its forces had killed a squad of Hamas gunmen who opened fire at troops.

Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, a military spokesman, said 14 of those killed Monday were actively involved in carrying out attacks.

Israel says it uses live fire only as a last resort. Snipers are supposed to aim at protesters' legs and can shoot only with approval from a commander.

Despite the evidence, the images of of rifle-toting Israeli snipers facing off against seemingly unarmed protesters caused an uproar around the world.

Countries have summoned and recalled ambassadors, the U.N. has issued condemnations and some have called for an investigation of Israel's actions. The Palestinians held a one-day general strike and called for three days of mourning for the victims.

The U.S. was among the few countries that came to Israel's defense, backing its right to protect its border on the same day that it countered international disapproval of moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The Palestinians, who seek east Jerusalem as capital of their hoped-for state and vehemently oppose the U.S. move, recalled their ambassadors to four European countries that had supported it.

On Wednesday, Guatemala followed the U.S. lead, festively opening its new Jerusalem mission with Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales saying his country was bringing a message of "love, peace and fraternity" to Israel. Paraguay said it also will move its embassy to Jerusalem. Romania, the Czech Republic and Honduras have said they are considering doing the same.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
