Yesterday was the halfway point of my treatments.
The cancer is shrinking slowly. My throat is sore and tender and my neck is turning red from radiation burns. I have a prescription for lidocaine gel to ease the discomfort in my throat and lotion to put on my neck burns.
The treatments are also making me very tired and nauseated. My voice is very weak. At times literally nonexistent and painful if I try to speak.
Only three weeks of treatments to go.
With treatments and recovery time Iím still looking at over a month before I can return to work.
The GoFundMe app has been a real blessing during this time of high stress.
There have been several wonderful people who have helped with donations that have made it possible to pay bills, mortgage, food, and transportation costs while I have no income and helped to keep our heads above water.
So many of you are people Iíve never even met. It really builds my faith in the brotherhood and humanity of man.
You ABB fans have been especially helpful and generous. It does my heart good to know that my decade with Gregg and the ABB family has been so warmly acknowledged and supported.
Thank all of you so much. Your help has been highly appreciated.
I was hoping by this point to have at least Unemployment Insurance to help get by, but I was informed yesterday that the state is denying my application. Apparently, since I canít work (even tho my leave of absence has been approved with a set day of return to work next month), you have to actually be able to work before the state will approve and cover your time off.
If I could work, I WOULD work, but I canít so Unemployment deems me as not qualified to receive assistance.
As embarrassing and humbling as it may be for me, I am reaching out to any of you who could offer even a small donation, to please do so. No donation is too small. Like pennies in a jar they add up.
All I need is to get thru this month of August. It will then still be very tight, but with a steady income, some frugalness, sacrifice, and patience we should be able to get back on track.
If you canít donate, I would greatly appreciate if you could share my GiFundMe link below.
I have been updating the GoFundMe account with photos and updates and will continue to do so as this all proceeds.
Again, thank you you all so much.

When you can't work even if it is for a short time due to illness, you qualify for disablity. State disability is DIFFERENT from federal disability which gets administered through Social Services (welfare). i don't know what your state pays, in NY it is $170 a week and it has been that way at least since the 1980's. Your Dr. can fill out a form, it goes to your state. You get those checks pretty quickly.

Thanks for the update David. Keep fighting!
If you are in a position to throw a few bucks to help David keep his finances above water while he's at this battle, I'll encourage it. He helped make some memorable moments sound as good as they did with his behind the scenes work with the Brothers and Gregg. Let's show him some love.
