Thread: Anyone Gonna Put Up Peach Festival Setlists This Weekend?

adhill58 - 8/10/2017 at 03:34 AM

It would be a great service to all of us who cannot make the party this weekend if nice people keep us updated with ABB-related setlists this weekend. Just so we all know what we're missing...

Thanks.

Who is on guitar and bass in this clip (other than Warren) Were these guys the core band?

Holt - 8/13/2017 at 12:59 PM

That's Berry Duane Oakley on bass guitar and Pat Bergeson(Jack's and Chet's friend) of Les Brers on the electric guitar. The front line changed mostly with the rhythm section of Jaimoe, Duane Trucks, and Marc Quinones being pretty consistent. Lamar Williams Jr. sang most of the lead vocals.

Pete Levin and Bruce Katz switched out Hammond B3 throughout. Chuck stayed in on keyboards throughout as he was the musical director. Bass was Oteil mostly, with Berry on a few, and David Schools of WSP on Dreams. Guitar brought many . . . . Scott Sharrard, Vaylor, Devon, Duane, Jimmy Herring, Warren Haynes, Jack Pearson, Pat Bergeson, & Marcus King among other guests. No Derek Trucks.

Does anyone know why TTB doesn't play Peachiest or Wanee?

I'm sure its not bad blood so I just wonder why. Always seems like a needlessly big hole in the line up and especially this year with Butch and Gregg leaving us.

If this was a final performance for Les Brers they went out equally as strong as The Brother's in Oct 2014. Jack's playing and leadership took the group to another level . The playing on each tune was powerful, emotional and particularly meaningful . The crowd picked up what was happening on stage early on and stayed with the band note for note . I lost it emotionally a few times and I noticed others in the crowd had similar type feelings during and after the set. The Saturday tribute set had it's moments for sure . The Les Brers set was a true , traditional Brother's set that had me hoping ( praying) that there is more to come from this group.

No. People have their thoughts and guesses, but there's never been any official statement. Which isn't surprising since artists rarely say why they don't play any particular gig.

I'd say it's a safe bet to say that Derek just wants to carve out a name for his band and doesn't want to ride on the coattails of the ABB legacy. I'm sure that he is proud and thankful for the opportunity to play in the band but simply just wants to put a little road between the two.
