Eat A Peach @ Jones Beach NY 8/21/07
There's only ONE band I'm willing to sit in 53 degree, very windy, cold, wet weather in. (guess who?)
Cool intro; slow mellow "Green Onions" blues shuffle into "Trouble No More".
Gambler's Roll a very pleasant suprise!
It took awhile for the axemen to warm-up due to the cold weather but they came around.
Warren was very focused and wasn't messin' around; Derek was lookin' intense too.
These guys amaze me that they can do this night after night. very dedicated musicians.
Greg played great solos during Statesboro Blues and Elizabeth Reed!
Derek's solo on Elizabeth Reed was out of the friggin' ballpark!
The crowds applause afterwards confirmed that moment of greatness.
The show seemed a bit short but I think they should shorten their sets a bit to stay fresh;
Greg played and sang on Bob Weir's encore and it was the first time I've seen him with his hair down on stage since the early 90's's!
Cool to see Oteil playing Butch's drum kit during the drum solo!
John Hall from Orleans joined on guitar on encore "Southbound"
SET LIST CORRECTION: the band played "Don't Want You No More"; not "Hot 'Lanta"
Overall: worth driving from CT to see my favorite live band despite the weather.
Thanks to the peeps parked next to me who gave me a free ticket!!
BTW: I bought a tie-dyed bootleg ABB T-shirt in the parking lot for $10;
NOTE TO BAND(S): set your prices REASONABLY lower on souveneirs because those bootleggers
are cashing in on you and us concertgoers can't afford $30-$50 T-Shirts!
Until Next Summer,
ABB- Please Come Back to CT in 2008!
