Answer
·  When did the band first get established?

The ABB started in March 1969 with a get together that turned into a mind-blowing multi-hour jam that left the band speechless. Search in the ABBase for 1969 and you'll see the first shows listed.

·  Who is Little Martha?

When the Allman Brothers Band lived in Macon, Georgia, they used to hang out in the peaceful, magical environment of Rose Hill cemetary. It's a special place. There's a grave site there with a statue of a little girl on it -- that's "Little Martha".

·  What is with the Allman Brothers and mushrooms?

Pop artists in the go-go psychedelic 60's did a lot of cool work with mushrooms, stars, strange little creatures, bold funky fonts, and oh yeah, that peace symbol thing too! The ABB dug the magic mushroom logo and it's been part of the scene ever since. The "Peach Truck" is slightly preferred these days because it doesn't have drug connotations, but the mushroom looks cool and is so strongly identified with the ABB that it's here to stay.

Todd, you win, Marshalls it is. I think Duane used a twin reverb or Fender Champ on Layla. Duane may have used the twin reverb during his Muscle Shoals days too. Got to recheck that one ...
